Once a much sought after Fort, due to its strategic location in the historical trade route; Rajmachi Fort, was captured by Shivaji Maharaj from Adilshah of Bijapur. Later Aurangzeb captured it in 1704, only to be regained by the Marathas a year later. Eventually, the British took over the same by 1818. Relatively popular amongst trekkers, this Fort, gives a beautiful bird's eye view of Pune/Mumbai highway & the beautiful valley around it.
